Funeral services for Wilma “Billie” Loewe age 88 of Clearwater were at 10:00 am Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater with Pastor Martha Voigt, officiating. Music was provided by Carol Thiele and Soloist was Becky Loewe. Pallbearers were Sam Loewe, Mike Loewe, Steve Adams, Alan Snider, Dana Baker, Dave Hruska, Danny Brummond, Randee Falter, Rick Prater, Darin Hahne. Honorary Pallbearers were John Mlnarik, Gale Rittscher, Jerry McKillip, Gary Siems, Fred Nolze, Don Snider. Burial was in the Clearwater Cemetery. Visitation was from 5 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater. Billie passed away Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Heritage Living Center in St. Paul, Ne.
Billie was born on April 11, 1920 to William and Laura Chapman in Taft, CA. She graduated from Taft High School in 1938. She attended cosmetology school in Bakersfield, CA and graduated from Austin Beauty School. After cosmetology school she met Harold “Hal” Loewe and it was love at first sight for them. They were married on May 29, 1945 at Douglas Air Force Base, AZ. They lived in Douglas and Twin Falls, ID. In 1948, they moved closer to Hal’s parents in Clearwater, NE. Billie had an entrepreneurial spirit and opened “Billie’s Beauty Shoppe” where she had many happy memories.
She was a member of Clearwater United Methodist Church. Hal and Billie loved to watch the Clearwater Cardinals. They received “Fans of Year Award” in 1988 and 1989. She enjoyed watching all kinds of sports on T.V. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Dennis and wife Jane Loewe of Palmer, NE. Three grandchildren: Carey and husband Darin Hahne of Osmond, NE, Michael and wife Shelley Loewe of Albany, GA, and Samuel and wife Becky Loewe of Lincoln, NE. Eight great-grandchildren Rachal Hahne, Derek Hahne, Allison Hahne, Owen Hahne, Madison Loewe, Tyler Loewe, Gavin Loewe, and Avery Grace Loewe. Sister, Nelcine McKinnon of Redding, CA, Sister-in-laws Joan (Mrs. Roger) Baker of Neligh, NE, Audrey (Mrs. Jack) Prater of Norfolk, NE, sister-in-law Arlene Loewe of Sidney, NE, and brother-in-law Fred Loewe of Upperco, MD. Many nieces and nephews.
Proceeded in death by parents, husband, brothers-in-law Marvin Loewe, William McKinnon, sister-in-law Ilene and her husband Melvin Adams.
