Warren J. Olson Bartlett�Funeral services for Warren J. Olson age 86 of Bartlett were at 2:00 PM Monday, February 26, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in Bartlett with Rev. Bonnie Forney officiating. Music was provided by Patricia Nichols organist Eudeen Nichols pianist and Katie Spahn soloist. Visitation was from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday, February 25, 2007 at the church in Bartlett. Burial was in the Bartlett Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bob Nichols, Leland Nichols, Dwight Nichols, Martin Kennel, Rick Smith, and Aaron Williams. Mr. Olson passed away Friday, February 23, 2007 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk. Funeral arrangements are being conducted by Snider Memorial Funeral Home of Elgin. Warren John Olson was born October 20, 1920 at Newman Grove, Nebraska at the family farm, the son of Alfred E. and Julia (Fredrickson) Olson. He grew up in the Newman Grove area and graduated from Newman Grove High School with the class of 1938. He then attended Nebraska Wesleyan College for 2 years. He was inducted into the United States Army Air Corp on April 1, 1944 at Fort Crook, Nebraska. He served during WW II and was honorably discharged on November 3, 1945 at Lincoln, Nebraska. He then moved to Wheeler County and began ranching in the Beaver Valley. Warren was united in marriage to Bonnie Gibbs on October 22, 1950 at Ponca, Nebraska. The couple made their home on the ranch until the time of his death. As a youth Warren received Christ as his Savior. His faith led him to become a member of the Bartlett United Methodist Church where he served the Lord in many capacities. In addition to his church activities, he was a member of the Wheeler Co. Fire Board, Farm Bureau, the Lions Club, and the Wheeler Central School Board. Warren had many interests in life such as ranching, watching FOX News, good conversation, supporting the Huskers, the Minnesota Twins, and the Wheeler Central Broncos. Survivors include his wife Bonnie of Bartlett; four children and their families: Sibyl and her husband Randy Spahn and their children Katie and Tyler all of Norfolk, NE; John and his wife Chris Olson and their son Tanner of Bartlett; Sally and her husband Ken Jennings and their children Taylor and Larissa all of Langdon, ND; Mark and his wife Sally Jo Olson and their children Jill, Sam and Scott all of Milford, NE; one sister Elaine Peterson of York, NE; and a brother Clifford and his wife Dorothy Olson of Albion, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Floyd, Harold, Alonzo (Kelly), and Ralph.
