Funeral Services for Vincent M. Thiele age 97 of Clearwater, NE will be 10:30 am Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at St. John's Catholic Church with Father James Kramper, Officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by Clearwater American Legion Post #267 and Legion Riders. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 5, 2016 3:00 to 5:00 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater, NE followed by a Wake Service at 7:30 pm at St. John's Catholic Church rural Clearwater. Vincent passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016 in Beatrice, NE. Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Memorial may be directed to CCPJ, St Patrick's Cemetery, and Antelope Memorial Hospital Vince Thiele was one of 12 children born rural Clearwater March 6, 1919 to Carl and Rose (Funk) Thiele. He married Marie K. Pistulka in Fairfax, South Dakota on November 26, 1945. They spent their life raising their family in the St. John's community. Vince and Marie enjoyed 60 years of marriage until her passing in 2006. Vince was a farmer by occupation and was an extremely "Handy" person and truly could engineer and fix anything. By example, he taught all of his children the value of hard work and instilled tremendous work ethic. Vince served in the United States Army and was stationed in Iran during World War II from September 4, 1941 to November 6, 1945. Vince was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He was a member of the Pope John School board and active with St. Johns Parish. He was instrumental in the care of Saint Patrick's Cemetery Vince is preceded in death by his loving wife, Marie; his sons, Thomas in infancy, Bob, Pat and Joe; his parents and four brothers Augie, Chuck, Louis, and Clement in infancy; and sisters, Theresa, Lillian, Cecelia, Geraldine and Bernadette. Survivors include his daughter Kathryn (Dennis) Wells of Beatrice, son John (Patty) Thiele of Clearwater and daughter-in-law Nancy Thiele of Elgin. 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; sisters in Arkansas, Margaret Fiser and Lou Hamm.
