Victor Walter Schlecht

Funeral Services for Victor W. Schlecht age 96, of Clearwater, were 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 5, 2014 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Clearwater, Ne with Pastor Daniel Feusse, Officiating. Music was provided by Caroline Jaeke. Pallbearers were Randy Schlecht, Jeff Schlecht, Adam Schlecht, Brian Riebesell, Brett Riebesell, Scott James, and Wayne Ahlers. Burial was in Concordia Lutheran Church Cemetery at Clearwater, Ne. Visitation was from 4:00-7:00 p.m.; Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater, Ne. Victor passed away, Monday, September 1, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Neligh, Ne. Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Victor Walter Schlecht was born on April 21, 1918 to Henry and LaVina (Walter) Schlecht at Omaha, Ne. He was baptized at his grandparents home in Clearwater. Confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church South of Clearwater. He attended school at School District 21. On December 10, 1944 he was united in marriage to Leona Mollhoff in Tilden. They made their home Southwest of Clearwater, Nebraska, where he farmed. Leona passed away January 30, 2009. He continued to live on the farm until June 2014, then he went to the Golden Living Center in Neligh, Ne.

He was member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Clearwater. He was very active in the church with the men's club, Laymen's League, church elder, and Sunday School superintendent. Vic was also on the School board. He enjoyed TV, music especially Polka. He liked to go to family events especially his grandchildren's big events.

He is survived by his daughter, Myrna and husband Douglas Riebesell of Pueblo, Co; sons, Ray and wife Deb Schlecht and Rodney and wife, Theresa Schlecht, all of Clearwater, Ne. 8 Grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, twin sister, Victoria Raabe and husband Ervin, sister Lorraine and her husband's Avalt Sanne and Charles Curtwright. Granddaughter, Anne Marie Schlecht.
