Vernon George Rang

Funeral Service for Vernon Rang age 71 of Orchard, NE will be 10:30 am Thursday, March 17, 2016 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Orchard, NE with Pastor Marcel Kohlmeyer, Officiating.  Burial will be at Concordia Lutheran Cemetery rural Clearwater, NE with Military Rites conducted by Orchard American Legion Post #136.  Visitation will be Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater.  Vernon passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 in Lincoln.  Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Vernon George Rang was born on December 29, 1944 to George and Anna Alice (Million) Rang at Orchard, NE.  He attended country school until 8th grade and then graduated with the Class of 1963 from Orchard High School.  He grew up on his dad's farm in Orchard. He then went into the National Guard for 6 years.  On June 5, 1971 he was untied in marriage to Lynette Sanne at Concordia Lutheran Church in Clearwater, NE.  He lived and worked his Dad's farm as a farmer to his present day of his passing.   Vern was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Orchard and very active in the church in many offices.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, toy tractor auctions, fireworks with the family, giving tractor rides with his grandkids.  He was very creative in inventing things on the farm. He is survived by his wife, Lynette of Orchard, NE.  Children:  Aaron and wife, Megan Rang of Stanton, NE, Jared and wife, Rhonda Rang of Lincoln, NE, Caitlin Rang of Orchard, NE, Eric and wife, Patricia Rang of Frisco, TX.  Nine grandchildren: Ashlin, Jessica, Kaiden, Mahala, Elise, Katheryn, Alayna, Rebeka, and Dyson Rang.  Three sisters, Marie Carter of McCormick, SC, Elaine and husband, Richard "Dick" Cherry of Pismo Beach, CA, and LaVon and husband, Paul Biermann of Wayne, NE. Preceded in death by his parents, sister, Delores Rang, brother-in-law, Burdon Carter, mother and father-in-law Adolph and Caroline Sanne.
