Funeral Services for Vernon Clyde Good "Buster", age 89 of Neligh, NE were 10:30 am, Monday, July 9, 2012 at Congregational Church in Neligh with Pastor Janet Davis, Officiating. Burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the American Legion Post 172. Pallbearers were Ryan Good, Trevin Baier, Ted Hughes, Jerry Binger, Jace Good, and Scott Hughes. Honorary Pallbearers were Steve Blair, Lyle Coover, Dave Blair, Todd Baier, Jim Petsche, Ron Petersen, Dwight Binger, Darrell Binger, Harlan Good, and Lloyd Good. Visitation will be 5 - 8 pm, Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Beyer-Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Neligh, Ne. Mr. Good passed away on July 4, 2012 at Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk, NE. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beyer-Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Neligh. Vernon Clyde Good was born on December 29, 1922 to Raymond and Violet (Wagner) Good in Neligh, Nebraska. He attended rural country school and Neligh High School. On February 1, 1943 entered in to the United States Army at Ft. Crook Nebraska. He served in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe during WWII. He was discharged on January 4, 1946 at Ft. Leavenworth Kansas. In 1946 he was united into marriage to Elaine Filsinger in The Little Brown Church in the Vale in Iowa. He farmed until retiring in 1978 and then they moved to Neligh, Ne. He worked for the county for a short time. He also worked for Blackburn Mfg for 21 years. Buster enjoyed fishing, tinkering with motors, carpentry, and being with his family was very important to him. He was a member of VFW and Neligh American Legion Post 172. He is survived by his children; Larry and wife, Patti Good of Neligh, Ne and Carrol and Husband, Dennis Baier of Wayne, Ne. 7 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. Brother; Bill and wife, Rowena Good of Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Sisters; Marilyn Schutt of Gering, Ne, and Joan and husband, Dave Blair of Sioux City, IA. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Elaine in 2002, and sister, Betty Johnson.
