Velva Rose Fallesen

Funeral Service for Velva Fallesen age 99 of Neligh, Ne will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2018 at United Methodist Church in Neligh with Pastor Bruce Phillips, Officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Neligh. Velva passed away at her home on April 3, 2018. Condolences may be directed to the family at www.beyersnidermemorialfh.com Velva Rose Fallesen was born on September 14, 1918 to Peter and Ethel (Newhard) Fischer at Brunswick, Nebraska. She grew up on a farm near Brunswick. Velva graduated from Brunswick High School. On September 28, 1946, she was united in marriage to Wayne Fallesen at the Neligh Methodist Church. They lived in Neligh, where she worked at Triple A, and Dr. Hybl's office as an Optometric Assistant. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Civic and Fine Arts Club, March of Dimes for fund drives, and painting club. Velva enjoyed oil painting, crossword puzzles, and being a homemaker especially cooking. She is survived by her children: Peter (Shirlee) Fallesen of Pocatello, ID, Paul Fallesen of Omaha, NE, Ellyn (Bill) Walters of O'Neill, NE, and Jon (Mary) Fallesen of Lansing, KS. 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, and one grandchild.
