Taylor was born on Oct. 23, 1994, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. to Gary Chance and Danelle Ducheneaux - Paterson. He started school in Menno, S.D., until the fourth grade when his family relocated to Neligh. He graduated from Neligh-Oakdale in 2013. Taylor loved sports and going to games. He played baseball, football and wrestled in high school. He also did one-act which gave him a chance to show his silly side. He loved fishing with his friends, playing cards and shooting pool. In the winter, you would find him snowmobiling with his buddies.

Taylor was tender-hearted and always tried to find the good in people. He always had a smile on his face and made others laugh with his silly jokes and antics. Taylor will be remembered for his sense of humor, laugh, smile and ability to light up a room in any situation. He was always willing to lend a hand and put other people’s needs in front of his own. Above all, his family and friends will remember his love for Jesus.

After high school, Taylor started driving truck over the road for his dad. After a few years, he moved to Iowa where he worked at various jobs and then landed his current job at Bremick, LLC Concrete Pumping and Conveying, which he absolutely loved. His co-workers became his family.

Taylor leaves behind many people who loved him, including his fiancé, Kayla Vander Meer. They were to be married on October 19, 2024.

He is survived by his father, Gary L. Chance and his wife Peggy of Oakdale, Nebraska; his mother Danelle Ducheneaux - Paterson of Tōtara, Oamaru, New Zealand; fiancé Kayla Vander Meer of Algona, Iowa; his sister Morgan (Richard) Ducheneaux-Stensaas of Hoodsport, Wash.; brothers Garret Chance of Olivet, S.D., Sage Paterson of Gimmernurn, New Zealand; step siblings Daniel (Sara) Connot of Hoskins, Nebraska; Jessica (Jackson) Peterson of Gibbon, Nebraska; Kelli Garcia of Neligh, Nebraska; his aunt/Godmother Lynn Ducheneaux, Mobridge, S.D.; grandpa Beaman V. Seaboy of Sisseton, S.D.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
