Funeral Services for Shirley Miller, age 92 of Ewing, NE will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 5, 2016 at United Methodist-Presbyterian Church in Ewing with Pastor Stuart Davis, Officiating. Burial will be at Ewing City Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour before service on Friday at the Church. Shirley passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Community Pride Care Center in Battle Creek, Nebraska. Arrangement are conducted by Snider Memorial Funeral Home of Clearwater. Shirley Elizabeth Miller was born on October 27, 1923 to Ora and Winnifred (Butler) Switzer at Ewing, NE. She attended school in Ewing and graduating from Ewing High School in 1941. On December 5, 1943 she was united in marriage to Leo Miller at her parents home in rural Ewing. During her lifetime she enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, gardening, and reading. She was known for being an excellent cook and baker. She was a member of United Methodist-Presbyterian Church and UPW Group.
Shirley is survived Children: Joanie and husband, David Worthen of Marion, OH, Rebecca and husband, Loren Johnson of Omaha, NE, Ellen and husband, Doug Denney of Norfolk, NE, and Melanie and husband, Frank Funk of Ewing, NE. 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, son Steve Miller, Granddaughter Ashley Hagler. Sister: Deyn Robbins and brothers: Wendell Switzer and Darrol Switzer.
