Funeral Services for Ruby "Jean" Bearinger Wedgewood, age 87 of Neligh, NE were 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 10, 2014 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater with Pastor Fay Hubbard, Officiating. Music was provided by Carol Thiele, Organist and David Bearinger, Soloist. Burial will be in the Clearwater Cemetery. Pallbearers were Larry D. Bearinger, Scott Cleveland, Kevin Bearinger, Jarod Bearinger, Jeffery Wolfe, and Justin Bearinger. Honoarary Pallbearers were Chad Bearinger, Sheila Bearinger, Tammy Spangler, Michelle Fitcher, Robyn Curran, Aaron Bearinger, Angela Hamilton, Adam Wolfe, Lisa Broders, Jesse Bearinger, Jaden Bearinger, Art Clinton, Joe Thiele. Visitation was from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater. Jean passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Neligh, NE. Ruby Jean Bearinger Wedgewood was born on November 16, 1926 to George and Mabel (Bolig) Mathers at Coleridge, Ne. She grew up in Neligh, Nebraska. Jean graduated with the class of 1944 from Neligh High School. After graduation she moved to California with her mother and she was a waitress and there she met Furlon Brown and they were married on June 20, 1945 in Los Angeles, Ca. To this union a son Larry was born. On May 23, 1948 she was united in marriage to Harold Bearinger at Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity House in Denver, Co where Harold's first cousins were living at the time and he wanted them to be part of the wedding ceremony. They moved back to Nebraska and made their home Northeast of Clearwater where she was a homemaker on the farm for many years. The couple celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary 1988. Harold passed away in 1989. Jean continued to live on the farm until 1997 when she moved to Neligh, Ne to live. On October 10, 1999 she married Dean Wedgewood in Clearwater. They continued to live in Neligh, Ne. Jean enjoyed many things: sewing, baking pies, square dancing, singing, bowling, oil painting, clowning, and flowers. She was a member of the Pleasant Dale Extension Club, Pinochle Club, Golden Tones, The Clown Club, Legion Auxiliary, United Methodist Church and ladies aide. She is survived by her children: Tonda and husband Roger Haynes of Wahoo, Ne, Douglas and wife Teresa Bearinger of Urbandale, Ia, Janet and husband Gary Wolfe of Clearwater, Ne, David and wife Roberta Bearinger of Valley City, ND, and daughter-in-law Judy Bearinger of Clearwater, Ne. 18 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. Sister-in-law Clarabell Scott of Columbus, Ne. Preceded in death by husbands, Harold and Dean, and son, Larry Bearinger. Grand daughter, Rebecca Cleveland. Great granddaughter, Kate Bearinger. Brothers, Raymond Mathers, Ivan Mathers, and Emery Mathers. Sisters, Berniece Brown and (Irene) Carla Mansker. Brother-in-law, Jim Scott and Don Bearinger.
