Memorial Service for Rosemary Pierson age 67 of Page, Ne were 10:30 am, Friday, March 25, 2011 at United Methodist-Presbyterian Church in Ewing, NE with Pastor Eric Ford, Officiating. Music was provided by Doris Ann Bollwitt as Organist. Interment was in the Ewing City Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers were Janet Sawyer, Kelsey Timperley, Cindy Hoerle, Vickie Steskal, Rose Foran, and MaryAnn Nissen. Visitation was 4:00 - 7:00 pm, Thursday, March 24, 2011 with a 7pm prayer service at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater, Ne. Rosemary passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 in Norfolk, Ne. Rosemary L. Pierson was born on February 20, 1944 in Burwell, Ne to Omar and Luverda (Freeman) Long in Garfield county at home. She attended in school in Stapleton and Burwell, graduating from Burwell. She cooked at school cafeteria in Burwell, worked at Blueberry Hill and American Legion in Burwell. She then move to Grand Island, worked at Max Magruders while attending restaurant management school in Hastings. She live in Grand Island during the 1980 tornadoes. She then moved to Ewing, and cooked at Two Rivers, where she met Marcus. They had a whirl wind romance and married March 20, 1982. She started working at the sale barn restaurant in Ewing and then worked at Gibson's in O’Neill. On March 20, 1982 she married Marcus E. Pierson in Ewing, Ne. At age 48 years old she graduated from Northeast Community College with her LPN. In 1995, Marcus and Rose welcomed son Josh into their family. She worked at the nursing home in Verdigre until her recent illness 2 years ago. She enjoyed Cooking, Playing Cards, Crafts, dancing, and bowling. She attended 39 years of state bowling. Rosemary was known to be feisty and very kind hearted. She loved spending time with all her family especially the "August Birthday party" with her grandkids.

She is survived by her husband, Marcus. Children: Don (Amy) Hopkins of Minden, NE, Annette (Rod) Palmer of Madison, NE, Julie (Doug) Lechner of Grand Island, NE, Chyrel (Mike) Hall of Red Bluff, CA, Connie (Joe) Walz of Kearney, NE, Melodie (Chad) Funk of Clearwater, NE, and Joshua Lytle of Norfolk, NE. 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Brothers and Sisters: Fred (Barb) Long of North Platte, Ne, Verda (Charlie) Thoene of Burwell, NE, and Lloyd (Sandra) Long of Vancouver, Wa. Sister-in-law, Deloris (Marvin) Pribnow of Albion, NE. Preceded in death by her parents. Older sister, Wilma (Clay) Lytle. Niece, Deb Lytle, and Nephew, Zane Long.
