Richard Lee Annable Funeral Services for Richard L. Annable age 76, of Neligh were at Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 8:30 am at Calvary Bible Church in Neligh with Pastor Scott Pape, Officiating. Music was provided by Alice Busshart. Burial was at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell NE. Pallbearers were Alex Annable, Andrew Annable, Mark Roush, Harpreet Parmar, Pat Coupens, Steve Moran, Jerry Wortman, and Ed Butler. Visitation was Wednesday, April 15, 2009, 6 to 8 pm at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Neligh.

Mr. Annable passed away Monday, April 13, 2009 at the VA Home in Grand Island.

Richard Lee Annable was born on September 27, 1932 to James Calvin Annable and Nellie (Davis) Annable in Alliance, NE. Rich was a graduated of Alliance High School, class of 1951. After attending one year at Chadron State College where he played football, Richard joined the United States Navy on February 14, 1952. On July 18, 1954, he was united in marriage to Doris Leister at Hanover, PA. Richard spent the next 22 years in the Navy including combat service in Vietnam, eventually retiring from the Navy on June 19, 1974. Richard went on to complete his Bachelors of Science degree (math) and Masters degree (counseling), teaching first in the Kearney NE School system and then the York County PA school systems from which he retired. He was a member if the VFW in Neligh. He loved woodworking, hunting, and fishing.

Richard is survived by his wife Doris of Neligh (formally Hanover, PA) Children: Judy Webb and husband John of Neligh, and Jim Annable and wife Terry of Winchester, VA. Richard has 7 grandchildren: Melanie Parmar, Michaela Roush, Kate Feist, Alex, Andrew, Jenna, and Victoria Annable, and 7 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, 4 sisters: Ruby Hill, Dorothy Doran, Eva Hill, Betty Coupens, and infant sister, Barbara.
