Gene Paul Henry, Jr. age 59 of Norfolk formally of Oakdale, NE will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Neligh, Ne with Pastor John Petersen, Officiating. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by Neligh American Legion Post172. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service at the Funeral Home in Neligh. Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Gene Paul Henry, Jr was born on March 24, 1956 at Miami, FL to Gene Paul Henry Sr. and Barbara Annabelle (Mawson) Henry. He attended school and graduated from Neligh High School. Gene entered the United State Navy on March 29, 1974 at Columbus, NE and was discharged on January 25, 1978 at Great Lakes, IL. On June 18, 1977, he was united in marriage to Markene Joy Verplank in Neligh. To this marriage are three children, Gene, Cassie, and Hollie. He worked construction and was a certified welder. On, July 15, 1990 he was united in marriage to Pamela Dee Bareford at Neligh, NE. Gene Paul liked to sing, play guitar, raising purebred Dalmatians, reading the Bible, and teaching Sunday School.
Survived by his wife, Pam of Norfolk, NE son, Gene Paul Henry III and wife, Carolyn of CA, daughter, Cassie Marie Brown and husband Upton of Beatrice, NE, Hollie Annabelle Tomjack and husband, Jeremy of Beatrice, NE. 11 grandchildren. father, Robert Sharples of Neligh, NE, sisters: Caroline (Rick) Collins of Fullerton, NE, Kathy (Trejo) Calvillo of Glennville, NE, Madonna (Mike) McCray of Fullerton, NE, Brothers: John (Connie Rae) Sharples of Fullerton, NE and Steven Sharples of Tilden, NE,.
Preceded in death by his parents and grandpa Dean Jones.
