Funeral Service for Patricia L. Melcher age 76 of Orchard, Ne will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Evangelical Free Church in Orchard, with Pastor Troy Watson, Officiating. Pallbearers were James Winterbottom, Eric Winterbottom, Daniel Scott, Andrew Scott, Kenneth Winterbottom, Shane McFarland, Cole McFarland, Landon Melcher, Taylor Melcher, and Anthony Herro. Burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Neligh, Ne. Visitation was 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2015 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater, Ne. She passed away April 14, 2015 at Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk, Ne. Patricia Louise Melcher was born on December 27, 1938 in Oakland, California, the fourth of seven children born to Alfred and Esther London. She attended school and graduated from Orland High School in Ca and completed 1 year of College at Chico State College in Chico, Ca. Patricia (Pat) married Kenneth (Ken) Melcher on June 1, 1958 at the Alameda Naval Base in California. Pat and Ken moved to Neligh, Ne in February 1959. They moved to Orchard, Ne in 1995 where they currently own the Orchard Motel. Before this, Pat worked in Lincoln, Ne at Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph Company for 16 years.
She is survived by her husband, and children: Penny and husband Dr. Michael McFarland of Azle, Tx, Sandra and husband Joseph Herro of Lawrenceville, Ga, Alan Melcher of Columbus, Ne, and Mary and husband Eugene (Buz) Winterbottom of Aurora, Co. Pat was blessed with 12 grandchildren: James and wife Jessica Winterbottom, of Grand Rapids, Mi, Eric Winterbottom of Lakewood, Co, Daniel and wife Lina Scott of Burleson, Tx, Andrew and wife Maricris Scott of Arlington, Tx, Shane and wife Jackie McFarland of Carroll, Ia, Cara Winterbottom of Aurora, Co, Anthony Herro of Atlanta, Ga, Kenneth Winterbottom of Aurora, Co, Taylor Melcher of Osmond, Ne, Christine Herro of Lawrenceville, Ga, Landon Melcher of Columbus, Ne, Cole McFarland of Azle, Tx, and 16 great grandchildren. Brother, Larry and his wife Darlene London of Heber City, Ut. Preceded in death by her parents, brother and sisters: Barney London, Jack London, Jerry London, and Phyllis Miller.
