Funeral Services for Patricia J. Hobbs, age 78 of Ewing, NE were 10:00 am, Friday, July 27, 2012 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Father James Kramper, Officiating. Music was provided by Rita Kester, Organist the St. Peters Church Choir. Burial was in Vandersnick family Cemetery, rural Ewing, NE. Pallbearer were Heath Murray, Branden Murray, Christopher Murray, Marshall Zumo, Eric Meyer, Kevin Hild, and Josh Capler. Visitation was from 4 - 7 pm, Thursday, July 26, 2012 with a 6:30 pm Wake Service at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater, Ne. Pat passed away on July 23, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Neligh, NE. Patricia Joanne Hobbs was born on May 26, 1934 to John and Gertrude (Thiele) Vandersnick in Ewing, Ne. She attended school at Ewing and graduated with the class of 1952 from Ewing High School. In August 1954, she was united into marriage to Mickey Lee Hobbs in Ewing, Ne. Pat ran the drive-in in Ewing and was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of the St. Peter's Catholic Church, taught CCD for many years, and was active with Christian Mothers. She enjoyed gardening and riding her bicycle everywhere in town. She was survived by two daughters: Victoria and husband, Swavek Kowalczyk of Round Lake Beach, IL and Lorraine and husband Don Murray, Jr., of Neligh, NE. 4 Grandchildren: Heath and wife Kelly Murray; Mariah and Husband Marshall Zumo, Branden and wife Abbie Murray and Christopher Murray; 7 great-grandchildren: Eban, Grace, Addison, Tristan, Trendan, Hudson and Easton. Long time friend, Leo Hawk of Ewing, Ne. Preceded in death by her parents John and Gertrude; a sister Adeline Firster; brothers: Clarence, Victor, Roy, and Joseph Vandersnick.
