Funeral Service for Otto G. Schindler age, 81 of Neligh were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Neligh with Father Burkhalter, Officiating. Music provided by Jane Ruterbories and Johansen Sisters. Pallbearers were Robbie Hoefer, Josh Schindler, Zachary Schindler, Shane Olson, Joseph Selting, Roger Hoefer, Rick Hoefer, and Aaron Gnirk. Honorary Pallbearers: Eddie Schindler, Freddie Schindler, and Paul Carlson. Burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Neligh. Visitation was from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at St. Francis Catholic Church with Rosary at 7:00 p.m.. Otto passed away at his home on Saturday, April 4, 2015. Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Otto George Schindler was born on May 25, 1933 to George and Rose (Crocker) Schindler in Ewing, Ne. he attended school at Ewing and Neligh. He entered the United State Army on May 4, 1954 at Omaha, Nebraska and was discharge on from Fort Dix, New Jersey on May 3, 1956. On December 28, 1959 he was united in marriage to Luella Stroh at St. Francis Catholic Church in Neligh. Otto was a farmer and ranch hand. He also owned and operated at The Shoe Box shoe store in Neligh for many years. He enjoyed golfing and hunting. He was a member of Neligh American Legion and St. Francis Catholic Church. Survived by four children: Cheryl Gnirk of Hoskins, Ne, Shawn Schindler of Pierce, Ne, Kelly and wife Jana Schindler of Columbus, Ne, and Tina and husband Joseph Selting of Lincoln, Ne. 11 grandchildren: Shane, Nicole, Aaron, Mishayla, Heather, Tamara, Zachary, Joshua, Lindsey, Samantha, and Megan. 7 great grandchildren. Brothers and sisters: Eddie & Marlene Schindler of Neligh, Ne, Freddie Schindler of Norfolk, Ne, Georgia Hoefer of Neligh, Ne, Sharon and Don Lallier of Orchard, Ne, and Rita and Stan Clifton of Orchard, Ne. Sister-in-law Evelyn Schindler of Neligh, Ne. Preceded in death by his parents and wife (June 2002). Sister, Janet Kallhoff and brother, Albert Schindler.
