Funeral Services for Myla Baker age 83 of Neligh, NE will be Tuesday, 10:30 August 4, 2015 at Oakdale United Methodist Church in Oakdale, Pastor Michael Davis, Officiating. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Neligh. Visitation will be Monday, August 3, 2015 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Neligh, NE. Myla passed away at July 31, 2015 at Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh. Myla Jean Baker was born on December 26, 1931 in Oakdale, NE to Albert and Edith (Bliss) Michaelson. She attended school in Oakdale and graduated with the Class of 1949 from Oakdale High School. On June 11, 1950, she was united in marriage to Merle Baker in Neligh, NE. They lived on the farm North of Neligh. In 1958 they moved to a farm near Oakdale. When Merle retired in 1991 they moved to Neligh. She was on the election board in Oakdale and Neligh for many years. Myla enjoyed bowling, crocheting, needle point, and was an avid reader. She was a member of the Golden Grannies Extension Club, Oakdale United Methodist Church, and United Methodist Women. She is survived by Sons: Tracey and wife, Maureen Baker of Norfolk, NE and Todd Baker of Neligh, NE. Daughter: Terri and husband, Larry Funk of Neligh, NE. 4 grandchildren: Jason and LeAnn Baker of Norfolk, NE, Benjamin Baker of Norfolk, NE, Bryan and Tara Baker of Kearney, NE, and Michael Sorensen of Lincoln, NE. 3 step grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Sister: Lelia and husband, Wayne Inness of Lincoln, NE and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by, parents and husband (1997). 1 son, Michael Joe and a daughter and a son in infancy. 3 brothers.
