Merle Dean Allemang

Funeral Services for Merle Allemang, age 90 of Clearwater, were at 10:30 am, Friday, April 3, 2015 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Clearwater, with Pastor Daniel Feusse and music was provided by Caroline Jaeke, Organist. Burial was in Clearwater Cemetery. Pallbearers were Michael Allemang, Craig Allemang, Lane Allemang, Jeremy Steskal, Jesse Brake, and Dan Mosel. Visitation was Thursday, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. April 2, 2015 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater. He passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Neligh. Snider Memorial Funeral Home are handling the arrangements. Merle was born February 15, 1925 to William and Viola (Dean) Allemang on his maternal Grandparents farm at Brunswick NE. He grew up on various farms in the Clearwater-Orchard area and attended several country schools including District 88. After completing 1 ½ years at Clearwater High School due to the death of a baby sister he quit school to help his parents on the farm. On February 9, 1944 he was united in marriage to Dorothy June Hauf and to this union two sons were born. Later they divorced and on June 20, 1954 he was united in marriage to Joan Darlene Klabenes at Concordia Lutheran Church in Clearwater. To this union two sons and three daughters were born. He was baptized and confirmed November 12, 1944 in the Lutheran faith. He was a keeper of the land and was known for his love of the land and John Deere tractors; His favorite being the John Deere 70 tractor. Merle with the exception of living in wausa, NE for one year, he farmed in Clearwater area all his life with the help of his family they operated a dairy farm for many years. He was a lifelong member of the Concordia Lutheran church and served on a church committee one year. He also served as treasurer of the District 89 school board. He is survived by his wife, Joan D Allemang of Clearwater, NE, sons, Merlin (Elaine) of Salida, CO, Bill of Escondido, CA, Jack (Karen) and Dan (Joyce) all of Clearwater. Vickie Steskal (special friend, John Krieger) of O'Neill NE, Vonnie (Joe) Brake of Hernando MS, Nancy Jo (Larry) Mosel of Orchard NE. 26 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren. Brother, Leon (Carolyn) Allemang of Fremont, NE and sister-in-law, Lucy Allemang of Neligh, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Voila (Dean) Allemang. Sisters and brothers, Marilyn Schreiber, Hoel, Ted, Donny, and Darlene in infancy. Son-in-law, John R Steskal, grandson Brandon Blum, and great grandson, Evan James Steskal.
