Memorial services for Max Kropp age 57 of Ewing were 10:30 am, Friday, December 3, 2010, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Ewing, Ne with Father James Kramper, officiating. Music was provided by Nancy Harpster, Organist and Terri Johnson, Soloist. Pallbearers were Bruce Flenniken, Larry Jorgensen, Pat Regan, Marvin Steskal, and Tom Wolnofer. Visitation was Thursday, December 2, 2010, from 4 - 7 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater. Prayer service at 6 pm. Burial will be at a later date.
Max passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh.
Max William Kropp was born on November 8, 1953, to Arthur and Dolores (Young) Kropp in O'Neill, NE. Max was baptized and confirmed at St. Peters' Catholic Church in Ewing, NE. He attended Ewing Public School, from Kindergarten through 12th grade, graduating with the class of 1972. After graduation, Max enlisted in the United States Army in June 1972, at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He was discharged in March 1978. On July 3, 1980, he was united in marriage to Sheila Eppler in O'Neill, NE. They made their home in Ewing. Max worked for Ewing Irrigation, Mid-America Cheese Plant in Orchard, Sands in Wheeler County, and NPP Hog Confinements in Wheeler and Holt counties as manager. He was a member of American Legion Sanders Post 214. Max enjoyed fishing, Nebraska sports, and all Ewing Tigers sports. He ran chains at the Ewing football games and helped at the score table for basketball games.
Max is survived by his wife, Sheila, of Ewing and a daughter, Megan and husband Dan Huber of Lincoln, NE. He is also survived by his sister, Dr. Sharon and husband Jim Araji of Golden, CO; brothers, Jim and wife Mardelle Kropp of Parma, ID; Richard and wife Sue Kropp of Omaha, NE; and Tim Kropp of Norfolk, NE.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Kropp.
