Funeral Service for Lucille Reiter age 88 of Ewing, Nebraska will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Ewing, Ne. Visitation will began at 9:00 a.m. until time of service Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the church. Burial will be at a later date. Lucille passed away Monday, April 8, 2019 at Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital. Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Condolences may be directed to family at www.snidermemoriafh.com

Lucille Luella Reiter was born in Star, NE on April 27, 1930 to Edmund and Bertha (Ganskow) Hoefer. She was raised in Elgin, NE, where she attended school. She went to work in Parr’s Cafe at age 14. She met Edwin Reiter and they were married June 5, 1950 in Vermilion, SD. They worked on the Pelster ranch until 1956, when they moved to Kimball, NE where Edwin worked in the oil fields hauling crude. In 1961 they moved to Atkinson, NE and worked for Mark Summers baling and hauling hay to Omaha stockyards. In 1962, they moved to Bartlett where Edwin still baled hay and Lucille worked in a cafe as a cook, both were still working for Mark. In 1969, they moved to Ewing where Lucille went to work for Two Rivers Steakhouse as a cook. In 1980, Edwin passed away and Lucille went to work for her son, Larry when he bought Broadway Bar. In 1995, her son Gary, had an aneurysm and stroke and she took care of him until her death. In between all of this she had 5 children, Larry, Gary, Marlene, Steve, and Diane. She was known to all as the lady who could make a meal out of nothing and it tasted really well. She lived for her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and raised a garden to be envious of. She will be missed by family and numerous friends and neighbors.
Survived by her children, Larry Reiter of Ewing, NE; Gary Reiter of Ewing, NE: Marlene Hollenback of Ewing, NE; Steve Reiter of Ewing, NE; and Diane and Steve Good of Wisner, NE. 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Sister, Laverne Currie of Denver, CO. Brothers, Lyle Hoefer and Dennis Hoefer both of Denver, CO.
Preceded in death by her parents and her husband; 2 brothers, Al and Melven. Sister, Evelyn (Steve) Medina. granddaughter, Lucinda and son-in-law, Jim Hollenback
