Funeral Services for A. Louise Nordby age 78 of Ewing, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Ewing Methodist Presbyterian Church with Janine Reynolds, officiating. Visitation will be Friday, August 16, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater, Nebraska. Burial will be in Ewing City Cemetery in Ewing. Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Louise passed away on August12, 2024 at Alpine Village in Verdigre, Nebraska. Anita Louise (McCart) Nordby was born on April 15, 1946 in Omaha, Nebraska to Glenn and Anita M. (Timm) McCart. She attended school in Omaha. Her family later moved to Coleridge Nebraska and she attended Coleridge Community School graduating with the Class of 1964. She worked growing up as a candy striper at the Park View Haven and Larry’s Bar and Grill (where she met her future husband). On June 6, 1964, she was united in marriage to Larry Nordby in Sioux City, Iowa. They started their marriage in Coleridge and later moved to Randolph in 1970. In 1975, a new adventure started with moving to Ewing, and running Larry’s Market for more than 20 years. Louise was involved in Ewing Fire and rescue as an EMT, Golden Tones, and the Ewing School Board. Louise was a member of the United Methodist Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing cards, sports, and music especially polka and the waltz. Louise received her LPN degree from Northeast Community College in 2002 and worked at Antelope Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by her children Everett and Flora Nordby of Colorado Springs, CO; Ed and Mary Jo Nordby of Ewing, Nebraska; Eva and John Peterson of Edgar, NE; Eric Nordby of Omaha, Nebraska; and Elliot and Kim Nordby of Norfolk, Nebraska. 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Sisters, Sharon (Keith) Graham of Winfield, Kansas; and Blanche McCart of Laurel, Nebraska and brother, Floyd McCart of Coleridge, Nebraska. Many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry (2014); brother, Larry McCart and wife Janice, son-in-law Allen James.
