Funeral Services for Louie "Jake" Jacob, age 59 of Clearwater were 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home of Clearwater with Pastor Carroll Plisek, Officiating. Music was provided by Carol Thiele, Organist. Pallbearers were Jason Jacob, Shannon Jacob, Scott Jacob, John Jacob, Matt Wright, Dean Brewer, Steve Bolling, and Roger Napton. Burial was in the Clearwater Cemetery with Military Rites by the Clearwater American Legion Post #267. Visitation was 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater.
Louie Passed away Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh.
Louie Paul Jacob was born on January 31, 1950 to Ervin and Augusta (Klawitter) Jacob in Neligh, Nebraska. He was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church in Neligh. He attended Neligh Public School. He entered into the United States Army on April 12, 1968 at Omaha, Nebraska. He was discharged on September 1, 1970 from Ferris Barracks, Germany. On October 3, 1970 was united into marriage to Carla Crawford. To this marriage a son, Brent was born. Jake spent most of his life trucking for Abler, CTC, Grothe's Feed Lot, and then as owner operator of Jake's Trucking. He was a member of the American Legion Post #172 and Pheasants Forever. Jakes hobbies and interests were trucking, Bull riding, hunting, fishing, telling trucking stories, playing cards, and watching old westerns.
Jake is survived by his son: Brent Sawyer and wife Deb of O'Neill, NE. 1 Stepdaughter: Kelly Forney and 2 Stepsons: Chance and Eric Flowers. Sisters: Darlene Petersen of Yucaipa, CA, Hazel Hoefer of Council Bluffs, IA, Margaret McDonald of Roy, UT, Elsie Jones of Norfolk, NE, Betty Walker and husband William of Ozark, AL, Joyce Daniels and husband Orval of Norfolk, NE. Brothers: Eli Jacob and wife Carla of Clearwater, NE, and Harold Jacob of Mapleton, MN. 3 Grandchildren: Dakota, Tanner and Ty Sawyer and 4 step grandchildren Brandon Kallhoff, Stephanie Rang, Jake Kallhoff, Austin Kallhoff, all of O'Neill. Great grandchildren: Blake Kallhoff, Sydney Kallhoff, and Alyssa Rounds.
Preceded in Death by his parents, 2 Sisters: Luella Simpson and Elvera Lewis; 1 brother: Ervin Jacob.
