Funeral Services for Louie Behnk age 88 of Clearwater were 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater. Music was provided by Jane Ruterbories, Organist and Paul Ruterbories, Soloist. Pallbearers were Jeremy Palu, Kristopher Palu, LeRoy Behnk, Russel Behnk, Curtis Bolling, and Merlin Bolling, Jr. Burial was in the Clearwater Cemetery. Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater. Mr. Behnk passed away Sunday, May 8, at the Golden Living Center in Neligh. Louie Karl Behnk was born on November 23, 1922 at home, southwest of Clearwater to John and Frieda (Brockmoller) Behnk. He attended District #21 south of Clearwater. Louie was drafted into the service. On May 16, 1952 he was united into marriage to June Nelson in Ainsworth, Ne. Louie was a hard worker, he helped do farm work for Fred Allemang, Thiessens, and Rittschers. 1963 they bought the farm south of Clearwater. Louie liked to be busy doing something. He loved to tinker out in his shop. Louie is survived by his children: Shirley and husband, Dennis J. Fineran of Denison, IA, Betty and husband, David Palu of Grand Island, NE, Jerry and wife, Patti Behnk of Clearwater, NE, and Jolene and husband, Dan Brummels of Ewing, NE. 20 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. Brother, Clarence Behnk of Neligh, Ne. Sister: Hilda Caulfield of Snohomish, WA. Sister-in-law, Leatrice Behnk of Greeley, Ne. Proceeded in death by his parents and wife. 7 sisters, Rose, Alma, Dora, Clara, and 3 in infancy. 3 brothers, Jurgen, Adolph, and Otto.
