Funeral Services for Lois I. Schmidt, age 83 of Stanton, Ne will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2013 at St. Peter's Catholic Church of Ewing, with Father James Kramper, Officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home with Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Lois passed away August 26, 2013 at Windsor, MO. Arrangements are being conducted by Snider Memorial Funeral Home of Clearwater. On August 26, 2013, Lois Irene Schmidt passed away at the age of 83. Lois was born on April 27th, 1930 to Frank and Minnie (Torey) Walters near Chambers, Nebraska. She was baptized in the Catholic Church. Lois was united in marriage to Julius John Schmidt, Jr. in 1948 in Parkston, South Dakota. From this union, there were two children: Terrence Leroy Schmidt and Linda Susan Schmidt. During their many adventures, Lois and Julius ended up raising cattle and farming. Upon Julius' death in 2009, Lois relocated to Stanton, Nebraska to enjoy family and friends. While in Stanton, she volunteered at the Salvation Army and the Veterans Home in Norfolk, Nebraska. As well as volunteering for sixty plus years later. Lois enrolled back in school at the age of 82 she received her diploma and GED in May of 2011. Lois is survived by her son Terry Schmidt (wife Betty), grandson, Julius John Schmidt, III, (wife Andrea), granddaughter, Teresa Suzanne Schmidt, granddaughter, Lela Michelle Schmidt, sister Helen Gilman and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her daughter, Linda Susan, and her four brothers, Ivan, LaVern, Donald, and Russell Walters. She will truly be missed by family, friends, and co-workers.
