Celebration of Life for Lois Reinke, age 97 of Neligh, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Grace Lutheran Church in Neligh with Pastor Norlyn Bartens, officiating.  Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Neligh, Nebraska.  Lois passed away on February 17, 2024 at Stanton Health Center in Stanton, Nebraska.  Condolences may be directed to the family at www.beyersnidermemorialfh.com


     Lois Ethel (Hoefer) Reinke was born on November 23, 1926 to Julius and Olga (Mock) Hoefer in Hugo, Colorado.  She grew up in the Elgin area and went to country school and attended high school until her sophomore year.  She moved to Omaha, where she worked at Faimont Ice Cream Factory.  On August 26, 1951, she was united in marriage to Donald Reinke at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Neligh.  They celebrated 66 years of marriage together before Donald passed away on December 4, 2017.  She helped Donald on the farm and took care of her chickens and ducks.  Lois raised two daughters.  She sewed baptism gowns for church.  She enjoyed sewing quilts and clothes, doing crafts, raising a garden and her flowers, baking, playing cards and games; she also liked polka music.  She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and involved with Mary Martha Circle; Neligh VFW Auxiliary, and Neighbor Hobby Club. 


     Survived by daughters, Elaine and husband, Jerry Wallace of Spirit Lake, IA and Joyce and husband, Larry Kassebaum of Beatrice, NE.  Grandchild, Jessica (Adam) Juza of Dicken, IA.  Great grandchildren Abigail, Ethan and Eliana.  Sister, Janice Walker of Lincoln, NE and sister-in-laws, Georgiann Hoefer of Elgin, NE and Hazel Hoefer of Phoenix, AZ.


     Preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, James LeRoy.  Brothers, Stanley, Paul (Rosie) Hoefer; Bob Hoefer; and Arlo Hoefer.  Sister, Bernice (Forest) Lichty.
