Funeral Services for LeRoy D. Blecher age 68 of Clearwater, Ne were 10:30 am Friday April 24, 2015 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater with Pastor Daniel Feusse, Officiating. Music was provided by Curtis Bolling. Pallbearers were Brady Fernau, Alex Blecher, Joe Eischeid, Andrew Blecher, Dan Blecher, and Ethan Blecher. Honorary Pallbearers were his grandchildren. Burial were in Clearwater Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by Clearwater American Legion Post #267. Visitation was 5:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home. He passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at his home. LeRoy Dean Blecher was born on December 4, 1946 to Lawrence and Helene (Nielsen) Blecher in Neligh, Ne. He attended grade school at Dist. #44. Through high school worked for Eugene Dietz as his hired man. LeRoy graduated with the Class of 1965 from Neligh High School. After High School he worked for Tyson Road Crew until he joined the United States Army. He entered on July 19, 1967 at Omaha, NE. He was promoted to Army private pay grade E-2 upon completion of basic combat training at Fort Benning, Ga., in September. This promotion was awarded two months earlier than a customary under an Army policy providing incentive for outstanding trainees. He was discharged on July 23, 1969 from the Army at Fort Riley, Ks, as a specialist E-4(P). While in the service he received Vietnam Service Medal, Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman's Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Marksman (Rifle). After, the service he worked for Norris Legate masonry. On April 21, 1974, he was united in marriage to Rose (Komrosky) at Bartlett, Ne. In 1983 he started working for the Antelope County Road Department until retiring 2013. LeRoy enjoyed rodeo's, horses, hunting, fishing, watching TV, dancing, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the American Legion Post #267 in Clearwater. He is survived by his wife, children: Michael (LouAnn) Blecher of Neligh, Ne, Tony (Carla) Blecher of Clearwater, Ne, Brian (JoBeth) Blecher of Pierce, Ne, Blaine (Tina) Blecher of Elgin, Ne, and Amanda (Jeff) Schlecht of Clearwater, Ne. 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Brother, Marion Blecher of Neligh, Ne. Sister, Jeanetta (Ed) Krick of Neligh, Ne. Many nieces, nephews, and special friends. Preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Nancy Blecher; nephew, Lawrence; mother-in-law, Charlotte, and brother-in-law Jon.
