Funeral Service for Karen G. McDonald age 68 of Neligh, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Antelope County Ag Society Event Center in Neligh, Nebraska. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Neligh, Nebraska. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 9, 2024 at Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Neligh, Nebraska. Karen passed away on September 6, 2024 at Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk, Nebraska. Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  Karen Gayle McDonald was born on November 12, 1955 in San Francisco, California to Thomas and Donna (Gabos) Walsh. She grew up in California and attended Garden Grove High School and graduated with the Class 1974. On February 14, 1985 she was united in marriage to Dennis McDonald in California. The couple returned to Nebraska to their farm north of Neligh. Karen loved her music, especially music of the 1960’s and going to concerts when she was younger; she also loved her baseball, especially the L. A. Dodgers; and she treasured her family and the times spent together. Karen had a green thumb and grew the most beautiful flowers. She found great joy in adoring the moon. 

  She is survived by her husband, Dennis McDonald of Neligh, NE. Daughter Jennifer and husband Nick Kocian of Norfolk, NE; Step sons, Dale and wife Michelle McDonald of Neligh, Nebraska and Dan and Stephanie McDonald of Madison, NE. Grandchildren: Clayton Kocian; Ian and Mackenzie McDonald. Brother Thomas Walsh Jr. of South Gate CA and Nicole Walsh and Brian Haber of South Gate CA and many nieces and nephews. 

  Preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law Richard and Erma McDonald; sister-in-law Zoann Rifer, brother-in-law Thomas McDonald.
