John W. Miller A Celebration of Life of John W. Miller age 86 of Ewing was at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 5, 2009 at St. Peter�s Catholic Church in Ewing with Father James Kramper, officiating. Music was provided by Doris Ann Bollwitt, Organist and the St. Peter's Church Choir. Pallbearers were Lee Miller, Rudolph John, Ed Hobelman, John Miller, Ben Miller, Matthew Butt, Adam Push, and Nathan Push. Burial was in the St. Peter's Parish Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday, October 4, 2009 from 4 - 8:00 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. Prayer Service all to be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Ewing. Snider Memorial Funeral Home of Clearwater is handling the arrangements.
John passed away October 1, 2009 in Lincoln, Nebraska.
John William Miller was born on February 3, 1923 to John and Anna (Kallhoff) Miller in Ewing, Nebraska. John Graduated from Ewing High School. He was united into marriage to Marguerite Calkins on December 27, 1945 at Ewing, Nebraska. They celebrated 41 years together. John grew up in Ewing all his life. Through his life he farmed, drove truck, worked at the service station, and he owned and operated Ewing Caf�. Most recent was mechanic and radiator repair. He was a member of the Ewing Volunteer Fire and Rescue, active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. John liked to play cards, camping, fishing, and Husker Football Games. He had a special love for his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
He is survived by his children: Jerome and wife Deb Miller of Norfolk, Ne, Charlene and husband Lance Hobelman of Lincoln, Ne, Victoria and husband Terry Keck of Lincoln, Ne, Roger and wife Mary Ellen Miller of Sioux City, IA, Dale Miller of Ewing, Ne, Mary and husband Fred Butts of Lincoln, Ne, and Ruth Push of Lincoln, Ne. 13 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren. Sister-in-laws: Bulah Hofacker of Elgin, Ne and Maxine Miller of Omaha, Ne.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite; Parents; Brothers, Richard, Joseph; Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law Antonia and Ernest Schollmeyer.
