Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Joan Thramer, age 88 formerly of Ewing will 1:00p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2020 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Ewing, Ne with Father John Norman, Officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Ewing. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2020 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with 7:00 p.m. wake service. Joan Edna Thramer was born on July 26, 1931 to Alvin and Laura (Steskal) Walnofer in Chambers, NE. She attended school at Ewing High School and graduated with the Class of 1949. On June 7, 1950 she was united in marriage to Mark Thramer at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. To this union one son was born, Mike. They ranched and farmed part of the Thramer homestead in Holt County where they lived. They spent many winters in Florence Gardens, AZ. She loved traveling all over the world and cooking. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and Christian Mother’s. She is survived by her son, Mike and wife, Cheryl Thramer of Ewing, NE. Four grandchildren: Michelle and husband, Garth Ostergard; Thomas Thramer; Adam Thramer; and Tiffany and husband, Matt Hoffman. Four great grandchildren. Sister, Marilyn and husband, Emil Cattau of Norfolk, NE. Brothers: Bob Walnofer of O’Neill and Jim and wife, Barbara Walnofer of Orchard, NE; and Vernon and wife, Janet Walnofer of California.
