Funeral Services for Jessie Hanson, age 85 of Oakdale, NE will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2016 at Church of Christ with Pastor Bob Dainton, Officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. October 27, 2016 at Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Neligh.  Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.  Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  Condolences may be directed to family at www.beyersnidermemorialfh.com

Jessie Edith Hanson was born on March 28, 1931 to Ray and Carrie (Knipe) Low at Denby, SD.  She attended school at Burke High School and graduated with the class of 1949.  She attended State College of Brookings for one year.  On November 12, 1950 she was united in marriage to Donald Hanson at the family ranch house at Lucus, SD.  After Don was discharged from the Air Force they moved to the Beaver Bottom area southwest of Elgin where they ranched with her parents.  In 1960, they purchased a farm northeast of Oakdale and relocated their family there.  For several years they owned and operated the Elkhorn Valley Mink Ranch where they raised and sold mink.  They celebrated 58 years of marriage.  She worked at Antelope Lane and the trailer manufacturing plant at Neligh.  They owned the Dew Drop Inn.  She was an avid bowler and gardener.

Survived by her children:  Bob (Lisa) Hanson of Neligh, NE, Barbara Hanson and Steve Lodge of Petersburg, NE, Ron (Donna) Hanson of Oakdale, NE, Lynelle (Bobby) Heinzeroth of Stoughton, WI, Carolyn (Boyd) Pedersen of Clearwater, NE, Dan (Denise) Hanson of Stoughton, WI, and Beth (Randy) Terrian of Saginaw, MI.  20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.  Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law Doler and Bonnie Hanson of Chadron, an Uncle, Chuck Thayer formally of Pierce, NE and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents; husband, Donald (2009); son-in-law, Ken Denk, and granddaughter, Joey Lynn Metz.
