James LeeRoy Sternberg

Memorial Service for James Sternberg, age 70 of Neligh will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at United Methodist Church in Neligh, NE with Pastor Bruce Phillips, Officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery with Military Rites by Neligh American Legion Post 172 and VFW #5287 and Legion Riders. James passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 in Omaha. Arrangements are under the direction of Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Neligh. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.beyersnidermemorialfh.com James LeRoy Sternberg was born on June 15, 1947 in Tilden, NE to Roy F. and Marcia E. (Huston) Sternberg. He graduated from Neligh High School with the Class of 1965. He enlisted in the United State Air Force on January 6, 1966 at Omaha, NE and was discharged on January 5, 1972 from Holloman AFB, Alamogordo, New Mexico. On March 24,1969 he was united in marriage to Rosemarie Kiesch in Trier Germany. After the service he owned Sternberg Irrigation and then later did long haul trucking over the entire United States. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and was an avid reader. He is survived by his wife Rose. Brother, Randy Sternberg of Hidden Valley Lake, CA and sister, Marlene Lampert of Hidden Valley Lake, CA. Preceded in death by his mother Marcia, and baby sister Nancy.
