Funeral Services for James A. Koenig age 83 of Ewing, NE 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 30, 2017 at St. John's Catholic Church rural Clearwater, NE with Father James Kramper, Officiating. Burial will be St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery rural Ewing, NE. Visitation will be Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Wake at the Church with Father Starman, Officiating. Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater is handling the arrangements. James passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017 at O'Neill Care and Rehabilitation in O'Neill. James Adolph Koenig was born on October 2, 1934 to Ludwig John and Martha Gertrude (Kallhoff) Koenig at the family home rural Ewing, NE. He attended District #146 of rural Ewing, NE. On April 7, 1956 he was united in marriage to Jolyene Kaczor at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Ewing. James farmed and ranched on the family farm southwest of Ewing all his life. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church where he served on the Parish Council. He also served on School Board District #146 and on Lake Township Road Board. He enjoyed farming, ranching, playing cards, attending livestock auctions and spending time with his kids and grandchildren. Survived by his children, Cheryl and Mike Thramer of Ewing, NE, Connie and Bruce Frederick of Fort Wayne, IN, Sue and Michael Harrison of Harrisburg, NE, Pam and Dave Frerichs of Atkinson, NE, Mary and Gary Thiele of Clearwater, NE, Jim Koenig of Ewing, NE, Theresa and Todd Timmerman of Norfolk, NE, John and Brenda Koenig of Ewing, NE, Patti Koenig of Arvada, CO, and Sandy and Marc Dinklage of Omaha, NE. 28 Grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren. Sister, Mary Ann Thiele of Clearwater, Ne. Brother, Bob and Florence Koenig of Lincoln, NE. Brother-in-law, Stanley Sojka of Norfolk, NE. Preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sisters, Kathryn Sojka and Bernice and her husband, Jerome Roth. Brother-in-law, Arnold Thiele.
