Funeral Services for Jim Good age 72 of Ewing, NE were 10:30 am, Monday, September 12, 2005 at the Concordia Lutheran Church in Clearwater with Rev. Daniel Feusse and Pastor Calvin Reinke officiating. Burial was in the Ewing City Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by Sanders American Legion Post #214 of Ewing. Pallbearers were Dennis Finley, David Finley, Gene Schacht, Pat Thramer, Gerry Bouska, Kenny Filsinger. Honorary bearers were Gary Barlow, Larry Barlow, Harlan Good, Roger Pofahl, Kenneth Schleuter, Gail Cronin, Elwin Babl, Todd Blair and Shontelle Blair. Music was provided by Matt Maxwell soloist and Sherri Ahlers organist. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 pm, Sunday, September 11, 2005 at the Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater, Ne. Jim passed away Thursday, September 8, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. James Gordon Good was born March 24, 1933 at Ewing Nebraska the son of Charles and Rosa (Reinke) Good. He grew up in the Ewing area and graduated from Ewing High School in 1953. On May 22, 1953 he was inducted into the United States Army at Omaha, Nebraska and departed the service on May 7, 1955 at Fort Sheridan Illinois. November 16, 1957 at Yankton, South Dakota he married Marilyn Finley and the couple resided in Ewing. Jim was a janitor for Ewing Public Schools for 28 years. He was coach for the 4th, 5th and 6th grade basketball teams for 34 years. Jim was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church, Sanders American Legion Post #214 of Ewing. Survivors include his wife Marilyn of Ewing, six sons: Steve and Diane Good of Howells, NE, Mike and Theresa Good of Central City,NE, Tim and Patti Good of Neligh, NE, Terry and Sherry Good of Tyler, MN, Tom and fiance Roberta Baumgartner of Fremont, NE, Kevin and Chris Good of Dodge, NE, two daughters Ann and Todd Boelter of Page, NE, and Becky and Mark Stamp of Bradshaw, NE. One brother-in-law Tom and Bonnie Finley of Hartington, NE. 23 grandchildren, and 4 Great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Genevieve Weiler.
