Memorial services for Jack E. Sisson age 78 of Omaha, NE formerly of Ewing, NE will be held at 10:30 am Friday June 24, 2016 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater, NE with Father James Kramper, officiating. Burial will be in the Ewing City Cemetery in Ewing, NE with Military Rites conducted by Sanders Post #214. Jack passed away June 9, 2016 in Omaha, NE surrounded by his family. Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Jack Eugene Sisson was born November 27, 1937 at Deloit, NE to Robley James Sisson and Helen Adeline Snyder. He attended school in Ewing and graduated with the class of 1957. He was an outstanding athlete in all sports. He was very proud to be a Ewing Tiger. For many years as a young man he worked on the ranch and at the racetrack training horses. Following graduation, Jack enlisted in the United States Marine Corps with his friend David Wright and went to Camp Pendleton, CA. After being honorably discharged he worked at Sorensen Dairy in Omaha bottling milk. He met and married the love of his life Frances Stone on October 27, 1964 in Yankton, SD and had three children. Jack was a welder at Mission Ornamental Iron in Omaha before moving back home. He hauled livestock for 20 years and owned his own business, Sisson Trucking of Ewing. After moving to Elkhorn, NE in 1988 he drove truck for Dilt's Trucking for 20 years. Jack enjoyed traveling the U.S. with his family. He loved camping, boating, country dancing, watching football and all sports. Jack loved talking to people and he could strike up a conversation with anyone. He always looked forward to attending the annual Ewing Alumni Banquet and visiting with friends and classmates. He loved his family dearly and especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jack fought a very courageous battle with several cancers for the past 10 years. He is survived by his loving wife of over 51 years Frances, son Jack Sisson of Ewing, daughters Beth Sisson of Ewing and Jenny Sisson of Omaha; grandchildren Kurt Sisson of Omaha, Brandi (Derek) Cox of Norfolk, Shelbi Sisson of Lincoln; great grandchildren Isaac, Caleb and Emily Cox. Jack is also survived by his brothers Dana of O'Neill, Gene (LaVonne) of Ewing, Tom of Grand Island, Jerry (Dianne) of Clearwater, and many nieces and nephews and his favorite dog Poki Loki. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers Robe, Bobby, Bill and Ronnie, sisters Betty and Marcella.
