Memorial Service for Guy Lewis age 74 of Norfolk, Nebraska will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2024 at Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Neligh, Nebraska with pastor Mark Hartley, officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by Neligh American Legion Post #172 and VFW #5287. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2024 until time of service at Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Neligh. Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Guy passed away on December 21, 2024 at Norfolk Veterans Home in Norfolk, Nebraska. Condolences may be directed to the family at www.beyersnidermemorialfh.com

 

 

 

 Guy Ervin Lewis was born on February 3, 1950, to Harry Arthur Lewis, Sr. and Elvera Maxine (Jacob) Lewis at Tilden Nebraska. He attended school at Neligh and graduated with the Class of 1968. He was enlisted in the United States Navy on February 25, 1969, served in Vietnam, and was honorably discharged on March 12, 1973. He was united in marriage to Cindy Kae Hayes on December 1, 1974, in Naples, Italy. One of Guy’s most memorable trips was going on the Midwest Honor Flight - Mission 11, on August 27, 2022. During this trip, he was able to visit the Vietnam Wall Memorial in Washington, D.C. with his daughter, Ashley. One of his favorite things about this trip was witnessing the changing of the Guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Guy enjoyed doing woodworking and going fishing. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle whenever he could. He was also a member of the Legion Riders, and Neligh American Legion and VFW.

 

 Survived by his wife, Cindy Lewis of Sioux City, IA, daughters, Kimberly and Daniel Good of Omaha, NE; Amber and Ronald Hoferer of Norfolk, NE; and Ashley Lewis of Sioux City, IA. Grandchildren: Kane Good, Daniel Good, Jessica Gastineau, Jayden Hendren, Baylea Hendren, and Keaton Hendren; Brother Rick Lewis of Emerson, Nebraska; Sister Shari Tjeerdsma of Avon, South Dakota. 

 

 Preceded in death by his parents. Sister LaRena RaE in infancy and brothers, Harry Lewis Jr. and Barry Lewis and aunts and uncles.
