Memorial Services for Dr. Gail B. Dunning, age 88 of Wayne, NE, will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the Wakefield Christian Church in Wakefield, NE. He passed away surrounded by loved ones Thursday, December 13, 2012, at his home in Wayne. Private committal was conducted in Orchard, NE, facilitated by Snider Memorial Funeral Home, Clearwater, NE.

Dr. Gail B. Dunning was born March 22, 1924, to Guy and Anna (Sholes) Dunning at Crown Point, IN, Gail was baptized into Christ at Neligh, NE, and grew up in the Clearwater, Neligh and Wayne area as his father Guy B Dunning ministered to Christian churches in those communities. On July 14, 1967, he was united in marriage to Carol Ann Hewitt at Pilgrim Congregational Church in Lincoln, NE. Gail received his Doctorate in Education from the University of Nebraska in 1971. He spent his entire adult life in active Christian ministry, including more than 20 years as a full-time pastor. He later became a high school teacher, counselor, professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and a management consultant developing and conducting seminars in human behavior across the country. His passions were Bible study and teaching.

He is survived by his wife Carol Ann Dunning of 45 years, his brother Dwaine Dunning and his children: Guy Dunning and wife Mary Beth; Mark Dunning and wife Barbara; David Dunning and wife Kathy and John Dunning and wife Ann; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Gail loved to gift Bibles to people.
