Funeral Services for Fredrick Schindler, age 78 of Norfolk will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2017 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Neligh, NE with Father Christopher Onuoha, Officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Neligh, NE. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery rural Ewing. NE. Military Rites will be conducted by Neligh American Legion Post #172 and Legion Riders. Fred passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Norfolk Veterans Home in Norfolk. NE. Fredrick Ernest Schindler was born on August 2, 1938 to George and Rose (Crocker) Schindler in Ewing, Ne. He attended school in Neligh and graduated with the Class of 1956 from Neligh High School. Fred attended Creighton Universally College. He entered the United State Army from 1961 - 1963. He worked for Schindler Construction with his brother Eddie for many years and retired in 2003. He went went into the Norfolk Veterans Home in Norfolk in 2010. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was a member of Neligh American Legion and St. Francis Catholic Church.
Survived by Brothers and sisters: Eddie & Marlene Schindler of Neligh, Ne, Georgia Hoefer of Neligh, Ne, Sharon and Don Lallier of Orchard, Ne, and Rita and Stan Clifton of Orchard, Ne. Sister-in-law Evelyn Schindler of Neligh, Ne. Many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents. Sister, Janet and husband Dean Kallhoff; brothers, Albert Schindler and Otto and Luella Schindler; brother-in-laws, Bob Hoefer and Gary Miller.
