Funeral services for Frances A. McCoy, age 94, of Neligh, NE will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2019 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Neligh with Father Pat Nields, officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Ewing. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at St. Francis Catholic Church and Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. Frances passed away May 3, 2019 at Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh. Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Frances Alice (Kruntorad/Bollwitt) McCoy was born on October 3, 1924 to Frank and Dorothy (Harris) Kruntorad at Ewing, NE. Frances attended rural schools in Wheeler County, south of Ewing and graduated from Wheeler County High School in 1942. On December 19, 1942, she married Richard W. Bollwitt. They had three children, Beverly, Linda and Richard Dean. After the return of Richard W. from WWII, Frances and Richard farmed for several years and also ran a dry goods store after moving to Ewing. They moved to Neligh in 1955, and after Richard W. getting severely hurt in 1957, she went to work out of the home at Wanek Drug, Dr. Peetz Office, at a steakhouse in Neligh and Oakdale, and Dr. Barr office in Tilden. Frances married Leon McCoy on November 3, 1979, and she also worked in his real estate and tax prep office. She and Leon traveled much. Frances’ hands were always busy cooking, crocheting hundreds of items for the family and friends. Making and quilting at least 100 quilts or quilted or embroidering items. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church since 1955.
Survived by her children: Beverly and Leland Hoepfinger or Bainbridge Island, WA; Linda Wingate of Neligh, NE; and Richard “Richie” and Sue Bollwitt of Seward, NE. Six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Sister, Audrey Campanile and sister-in-law, Ruby Kruntorad.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Lyle Kruntorad; and sister Doris Rotert.
