Funeral Services for Eugene Koenig age 85 will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Ewing, Nebraska with Father Frank Baumert, officiating. Burial will be Tuesday, July 30, 2024 in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, July 29, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with 7:00 p.m. Wake service at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Ewing. Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  Eugene Louis Koenig was born on December 17, 1938 to Adolph and Audrey (Tomjack) Koenig at Ewing, Nebraska. He graduated from Ewing High School with the Class of 1956. He enlisted in the National Guard on November 6, 1962 until November 5, 1965. On April 4, 1959, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth “Maxine” Noffke. They made their home on the family farm south of Ewing. He continued to farm and raise cattle for most of his life. He enjoyed watching football and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Ewing. 

  Survived by his wife, Maxine Koenig; children Connie Koenig of Norfolk, NE; Kenneth Koenig wife Brittney of Ewing, NE; Kevin Koenig wife, Gina of Ewing, NE; and Cindy Warnke and husband Marcus of Lincoln, NE. Nine Grandchildren: Kurt Sisson of Omaha, NE; Brandi Cox of Norfolk, NE; Cyra Williams of Norfolk, NE; Natasha DeWald of Ewing, NE; Katie Cunningham of Ewing, NE; Ashley Koenig of Ewing, NE; Michael Koenig, of Ewing, NE; Hannah Warnke of New London, CT; Hunter Warnke of Lincoln, NE, and 9 great grandchildren. Sister Annabelle Adamson of O’Neill, NE and brother Tom Koenig of Elwood, NE.

  Preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Audrey, brothers, Leonard and Jerry and his in laws, Frank and Bertha Nolfke.
