Funeral Services for Earl J. Snider, age 82 of Clearwater were at 10:30 am, Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at the Concordia Lutheran Church in Clearwater with Pastor Daniel Feusse officiating. Music was provided by Caroline Jaeke, organist. Burial was in the Clearwater Cemetery. Pallbearers were Scott Herley, Brock Herley, Curt Thiele, Nathan Trosper, Sam Snider, and Earl Snider. Honorary pallbearers were Tricia Meduna, Jody Helms Tara Zimmerman, Amber Trosper, Kaycee Boros, Wendy Snider, Stephanie Snider, Pam Wolf, Tina Thiele-Blecher, and Melissa Thiele. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, Monday, January 1, 2007 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater. Mr. Snider passed away Saturday, December 30, 2006 at his home in Clearwater. Earl Jr. Snider was born August 15, 1924 at Diagonal, IA the son of William and Julia (Dillenburg) Snider. The family moved to Clearwater in 1935 grew up and attended rural ClearWater School. In 1938 he began driving Cream truck in Clearwater. On June 14, 1948 he was united in marriage to Dolores Retzlaff in Norfolk ,NE and the couple made their home in Norfolk where he worked for the International dealership as a mechanic. The couple moved to Worland, WY for a short time where he worked as a mechanic on oil well motors. In 1955 they moved back to Clearwater, NE where he worked as a mechanic at the Mobil station. He later worked as a Chevy mechanic for many of the area dealerships before working for Bill�s OK tire in Neligh until his retirement in 1998. Earl was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church. He was a past Clearwater Volunteer Fireman where he was a former Fire Chief. He was also served on the village town board. He was an avid Clearwater Cardinal fan and Cornhusker fan. He enjoyed being with his family and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Dolores Snider of Clearwater; four children: Kathy and her husband Ron Herley of Seward, NE, Diana and her husband Steve Trosper of Columbus, NE, Steve and his wife Ginnie Snider of Omaha, NE, and Deb and her husband Fred Thiele of Clearwater, NE; a sister Velma Metschke of Chambers, NE; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers: Melvin and Clarence; a sister Viola Yaryan; and a grandson Christopher Snider.
