Doris Fay Wiegand

Funeral Services for Doris Wiegand, age 85 of Clearwater were at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 17, 2011 at Church of Christ in Neligh with Pastor Bob Dainton, Officiating. Music was provided by Bob and Rita Kester. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery southwest of Clearwater. Pallbearers were Bruce Flenniken, Bob Napier, David Wiegand, James Gray, Gabriel Wiegand, and Benjamin Wiegand. Honorary Pallbearers were Fred Knievel and John L. Knievel. Visitation was from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater. Doris passed away Friday, October 14, 2011 in Neligh. . Doris Fay (Fuller) Wiegand was born on March 29, 1926 to Marvin and Catherine (Branen) Fuller in Orchard, NE. When she was young her family moved to Tilden where she attended elementary school. Then they moved south of Clearwater. She graduated with the class of 1943 from Clearwater High School. On May 10, 1943, she was united into marriage to James Wiegand in Center, NE. To this marriage they had 2 children together Richard James and Catherine J. Doris helped with the farming. She taught school from 1943 - 1946. She was a hairdresser, office manager at WJW Fertilizer for George Wrenholt, bank teller at Citizens State Bank, and a secretary at Middleton Lumber. She enjoyed being with family, playing cards & dice, sewing fancy work, and working with her flower gardens. Her Grandsons were her pride and joy. She was a member of the Church of Christ Women, American Legion Auxiliary #267 for 60 years, the Birthday Card Club, and Golden Tones. She is survived by her husband, James. Daughter, Catherine Gray of Neligh, NE. 2 Grandsons, David and wife Dawn Wiegand, and James Gray all of Neligh, NE. 2 great grandsons, Gabriel and Benjamin Wiegand. Sister, Marilyn and husband, Steve Horn of Orberlin, KS. Brother, Donald Fuller of Grand Island, NE. Many Nieces and Nephews Preceded in death by her parents, and son, Richard. Sister-in-law Carol Fuller.
