Funeral Service for Denise Claussen, age 53 of Butte, Ne were 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2015 at Full Gospel Church in Butte, Ne with Pastor Tim Hazen, Officiating. Music was provided by Darlene Jons, organist and Loren Jons, soloist. Burial will be at the Butte Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kevin Kulhavy, Kenny Kulhavy, Kelly Kulhavy, Brian Shutt, Tony Shutt, Kyle Shutt, Chris Winer, Jason Winer, and Jesse Winer. Honorary Pallbearers were Cathy Deitermeier and Laura Lurz-Cordes. Visitation was Friday at 12:30 p.m. until time of Funeral Service at the church. Denise entered into the arms of Our Heavenly Father on May 31st, 2015, with her family at her side. Snider Memorial Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Denise Renae Claussen was born on August 20th 1961 to John and Anna (Kalkus) Kulhavy in Wagner, SD. Denise entered into the arms of Our Heavenly Father on May 31st, 2015, with her family at her side. Denise was the youngest of five Children. She attended Gregory Public School in Gregory, SD and later Wagner Public School in Wagner, SD; where she completed the 10th grade and later completed necessary education to obtain her GED. In her younger years, Denise helped take care of her mother after her mother suffered a stroke. She also worked various jobs. In 1979 Denise met the love of her life, Jeffery Claussen. The two of them were united in marriage on October 5th, 1984 in O'Neill, NE. Denise and Jeff started their family with the birth of Cody Allen on March 31st, 1983 followed by their twin daughters Jeri Jo and Bobbi Jo on July 31st, 1985 and finally Sara Nicole on December 9th, 1988. Denise, Jeffery and their 4 children lived in Atkinson, NE for many years and moved to Butte, NE in 1995 where they settled their home. Denise was the most caring woman and cared for others as a CNA for many years in Atkinson, Stuart, and Butte, NE before finding a career in her passion of cooking and baking. Denise finished her career serving others at the Boyd County Senior Center, as the head cook, where she grew strong friendships with many people. Denise loved her family very much, they meant the world to her and she adored her grandchildren to the moon and back. She always enjoyed spending every moment she could with them, and they all loved coming to stay with grandma and grandpa. Denise has 10 grandchildren; Harleigh, Alizae, Broghan, Ethan, Blake, CoyLane, Brittyn, Lilyana, KyeLynn, and Haydenn. Denise also has 8 step grandchildren who she also adored to the moon and back, Adrianna, Joselyn, Kaydenn, Haylee, Bryce, Gavin, Tyler and Logan. Denise is survived by her husband, Jeffery, of 30 wonderful years; Her Children Cody (Kelley Nolan) of Atkinson, Ne; Jeri (Julio Bazan) of Creighton, NE; Bobbi (Mike Moore) of O'Neill, NE; Sara of Butte, NE and Kasey Vogt of Hartford, SD. Denise is also survived by her sisters Diane Shutt of Atkinson, NE and Debra Winer of Burwell, NE; her brother Dale (Barb) Kulhavy of Yankton, SD and many nieces and nephews. Denise is preceded in death by her parents John and Anna Kulhavy, her brother David Kulhavy, brother in-law Morris Shutt and mother and father in-law Patricia and Merold Claussen.
