Funeral Service for Clair A. Pollard age 88 of Meadow Grove, were Monday, May 10, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Meadow Grove, Nebraska with Pastor Michael Davis, Officiating. Music was provided by Pat Decker. Burial was in Clearwater City Cemetery with Military Rites by the Clearwater American Legion Post #267. Pallbearers were Alan Leapley, Duane Leapley, Brandon Pollard, Trevor Pollard, Lonnie Halsey, and Telfer Halsey. Visitation was on Sunday, May 9, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater.

Clair passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at the Golden Living Center in Norfolk, Nebraska.

Clair Alvin Pollard was born on October 16, 1921 in Clearwater, Nebraska to Telfer and Blanche Pollard. He was raised in Clearwater, Ne and graduated from Clearwater High School. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1942 until 1946. While serving in England he met and married his wife Margret Dawson on February 12, 1944 in Rochdale, England. They celebrated 48 years of marriage together. After the service they returned to Nebraska and eventually moved their family to Round Lake Beach, IL residing there until 1982. Clair worked as a general contractor, home builder. He returned to farm in Meadow Grove, Nebraska and then retired in Tilden. He was member of the VFW and the Amvets. He was a Commander of the VFW of Round Lake, IL. He enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casinos.

He is survived by his son, Glenn and wife Cheryle Pollard of Round Lake Beach, IL. 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Brother, Telfer and wife Annie Pollard of Junction City, KS. Sisters, Opal and husband Loy Halsey of Chapman, KS and Miriam and husband Paul Mecham of Billings, MT.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife. His daughter; Sandra and his son; David. Brothers: Merrill, Marion, and Raymond. Sisters: Delores and Leola.
