Bruce William Hild

March 15, 1948 — January 10, 2015

Funeral services for Bruce Hild, age 66, of Neligh will be 2:30 pm, Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Neligh with Pastor Gary Ganger and Pastor Bruce Phillips, officiating. Services will also be streamed live at the Legion Hall due to limited space at the church. Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Neligh. There will be time to greet the family, following interment, at the American Legion Hall along with a celebration of life at 6:00 pm at the Imperial II. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at United Methodist Church. There will be a Masonic Rite Service by Diamond Lodge #291 A.F. & A.M. of Orchard at 7:45 p.m. at the church. Bruce passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh. Beyer-Snider Memorial Funeral Home of Neligh is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the family to be used at their discretion for Bruce's various philanthropies. Bruce William Hild was born on March 15, 1948 to Clyde and Georgia (Kuhl) Hild in Norfolk, NE. He grew up in Plainview and graduated with the Class of 1966 from Plainview High School. On July 17, 1971 he was united in marriage to Gretchen Fullner in Pierce, NE. To this marriage a daughter was born, Kristi. Bruce then moved to Neligh and on June 17, 1978 he was united in marriage to Cynthia Dierking where they have since made their home. This marriage was blessed with three children, Brent, Tara, and Kevin. Bruce's passions were farming, raising hogs, and dealing in livestock. He earned Star State Farmer and American Farmer degrees in 1967-68. He enjoyed many things: talking on the phone, traveling, golfing, going for drives, eating out and socializing, and spending time with his family. He was president of the Antelope County Healthcare Foundation Board, past member of the Neligh-Oakdale School Board and ESU 8 Board, a TeamMates Mentor, a member of the Masonic Diamond Lodge 291 in Orchard, and a member of the United Methodist Church in Neligh. He is survived by his wife, Cindy of Neligh, daughter Kristi and husband, Matt Rohrich of Omaha, son Brent and wife, Laura Hild of Boston, daughter Tara Hild of Lincoln, and son Kevin and wife, Miranda Hild of Neligh. Five Grandchildren: Emma, Jacob, Riley, Max Rohrich and Skylar Hild. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Judy Holmes, and father-in-law, Harlan Dierking.
