Funeral Services for Bernard C. Voborny age 83 of Neligh, NE will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014 at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father John Broheimer, Officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Neligh, NE with Military Rites conducted by Neligh American Legion Post #172. Visitation will be 4 to 7 pm, Friday, May 2, 2013 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Neligh with a 7 pm Vigil Service. Bernard passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh, Ne. Beyer Snider Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Bernard Charles Voborny was born on December 2, 1930 to Stanley and Mary (Karella) Voborny in Madison County near Battle Creek, Ne. He attended school at District 67 Madison County. Bernard served in the Army from 1952 – 1953. He was united in marriage to Rosella Brown on August 28, 1957 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Neligh, NE they were married for 56 years. They raised three girls and three boys on the farm. They lived and farmed South of Tilden until 1963. Then they moved North of Neligh. He farmed and raised livestock for the past 52 years and planted trees for NRD for 50 Years. He belonged to the VFW, Rae Valley Heritage Thrashers Association, Pierce Historical Society, and Soil Conservation Service. Survived by his wife and children: Mark Voborny of Neligh, NE, Lois (Jim) Bright of Royal, NE, Lucy (Ron) Pyle of Neligh, NE, and Todd (Patricia) Voborny of Stanton, NE, and daughter-in-law, Penny Voborny of Elgin, NE. 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Brothers and Sisters: Ervin Voborny of Elgin, NE, Elenor Julsen of Lindsey, NE, Marilyn Schroeter of Newman Grove, NE, Sister Marie (Blanch) Voborny of Manitowoc, WI, and Dewayne Voborny of Neligh, NE. Proceeded in death by parents, son, Leon; daughter, Irene; grandson, Luke; and sister, Jeannett Lees.
