Funeral Services for Barbara Jean Muff age 95 of Clearwater, NE were 10:30 Monday, November 28, 2016 at St. John's Catholic Church in rural Clearwater with Father James Kramper and Father Eldon McKamy, Officiating.  Music was provided by Tom Kimes and St. John's Choir.  Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery rural Clearwater.  Pallbearers were Mike Peter, Dan Peter, Steve Peter, Pat Deane, Brian Thramer, John Sample, Shaun Hansen, and Austin Muff.  Visitation was 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; Sunday, November 27, 2016 at St. John's Catholic Church with a 7:00 p.m. Wake Service at church.  Snider Memorial Funeral Home of Clearwater is handling the arrangements.  Jean passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Community Pride Care Center in Battle Creek, NE.  Condolences maybe directed to family at www.snidermemorialfh.com Memorials to: Clearwater Fire Department and Faith Regional Hospice or donors choice. Barbara Jean Muff was born on September 27, 1921 in Clearwater, NE; the daughter of Ben and Jane (Miller) Babcock. She grew up in Clearwater and graduated from Clearwater High School in 1939. She taught a rural school near Elgin, NE for 2 years. On June 3, 1941 she married Cletus Muff and they made their home on the farm southwest of Clearwater where they lived for 69 years and the last 6 years in the Willows in Neligh and Community Pride Care Center in Battle Creek. Jean was active in her church, serving as Christian Mother office. O'Neill Deanery, president, and in the ACCW Board of Directors. She enjoyed her flowers, plants, and doing counted cross stitch. Survived by her children: Wayne Muff of Fremont, NE, Jane and Cal Peter of O'Neill, NE, Ruth and Larry Deane of Houston, TX, Ed Muff of Lodi, CA, Bobi and John Courtney of Alliance, NE, and Margaret and Greg Hansen of Heminford, NE. 18 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and dear friend Rilla Hanzlik. Preceded in death by her parents, and husband (2011). 3 sisters and 1 brother and daughter-in-law Dawn.
