Funeral Services for Ardis McDaniel age 94 of Ewing, NE were 10:30 am Friday, January 8, 2016 at Cornerstone Bible Church in Orchard, Ne with Pastor Tom Barnes. Music was provided by Greg Walmer and Ellie Meyer. Burial was in Clearwater Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe Kruntorad, Greg Kiepke, Mike Patras, Bill Taylor, Rob Taylor, and Nick Hahlbeck. Honorary Pallbearers, Dan Resigner and Oliver Bohemian. Visitation will be 5 to 8:00 pm at Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater, NE. Ardis Jean McDaniel was born on January 15, 1921, to Cecil and Verna (Yorke) Anderson in Neligh, NE. She attended Hackberry Hollow Country School rural Clearwater, Neligh, and Clearwater; graduating from Clearwater High School with the class of 1937. After graduating she taught at Frenchtown Country School for 2 years. On May 28, 1940, she was united in marriage to Robert Allen McDaniel in O'Neill, NE. They lived on the family farm all of their life. She enjoyed her family, gardening, cooking/baking, reading, sewing, embroidery, and crocheting. Ardis was involved in many things: Bible Study, missionary meetings, 4-H leader, Jolly Workers (making quilts for orphanages) and card clubs.
Survived by her children: Roberta (Robert) Patras of Placentia, CA, Glenellen Taylor of Ewing, NE, Kathleen (Maurice) Hahlbeck of Foster, NE, and Peggy (Steve) Kiepke of Dakota Dunes, SD, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters: Eugene "Bud" (Ellen) Anderson of Kansas City, MO, Helen Van Vleck of Puyallup, WA, Clark (Avis) Anderson of Casper, WY, Alta Heggemeyer of Kearney, NE, Dean (Judy) Anderson of LaConnor, WA, Tom (Janell) Anderson of Fremont, NE, and Ron (Kay) Anderson of Lincoln, NE, many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents and husband (1996), sisters Verna and Gwen, brother, Richard, and grandson, Mark G. Patras.
